Italy – Florence
Mgr. Daniela Marcinova
From 6 to 11 July 2026, I participated in an Erasmus+ learning mobility in Florence, Italy. The main part of the mobility was the course "AI Tools for Educators", which took place at the Europass Teacher Academy. The training was held from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The mobility programme was also complemented by cultural activities on Saturday.
The course was attended by 15 teachers from different European countries, including Slovakia, Portugal, Malta, Greece, Hungary and Poland. The international composition of the group created excellent opportunities for exchanging experiences and sharing examples of good teaching practice. The course trainer was Pietro Antichi, who guided us professionally throughout the week through the topic of using artificial intelligence in education.
The aim of the course was to develop teachers' digital competences and demonstrate ways of using artificial intelligence effectively in the teaching process.
During the five days of intensive training, I gained a great deal of new knowledge and practical experience in using artificial intelligence tools in teaching. I learned about the principles of generative artificial intelligence, how to create effective prompts, and how to use AI responsibly and ethically when preparing teaching materials as well as during lessons themselves. The course included presentations and practical activities involving several modern digital tools, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, NotebookLM, Mizou, Gamma, GooseChase, Google Arts & Culture, CapCut and Ideogram. These tools offer a wide range of possibilities for lesson planning, creating educational materials, assessing students and supporting active learning.
One of the greatest benefits of the course was the international environment, which brought together teachers from several European countries. The exchange of experiences, discussions about different approaches to education and sharing examples of good practice were very enriching for me. I had the opportunity to learn how teachers work in other countries and gained many ideas that I can apply in my own teaching practice. At the same time, I communicated actively in English throughout the stay, which helped me improve my language skills and strengthen my confidence when communicating in a foreign language.
In my free time, I also had the opportunity to explore the rich history and culture of Florence, visit its important landmarks and taste traditional Italian cuisine, which was a pleasant addition to the whole mobility experience.
I consider the acquisition of practical skills to be one of the greatest benefits of the course. These skills will enable me to prepare teaching materials more effectively, create more varied and engaging learning activities, and better adapt educational content to the individual needs of students. The knowledge I gained will also help me save time when preparing lessons and provide new opportunities to develop students' creativity, critical thinking and digital competences.
I consider the course in Florence to have been a very positive experience, both professionally and personally. It convinced me that, when used properly and responsibly, artificial intelligence can be a valuable assistant to a teacher rather than a replacement for one. I plan to gradually apply the knowledge and experience I gained in my teaching practice, share them with my colleagues and contribute to the development of digital competences at our school.
I believe that applying these new skills and tools will be beneficial not only for me as a teacher, but above all for our students and the quality of education.

From 6 to 11 July 2026, I participated in an Erasmus+ teacher training course in the Italian city of Florence. The course, entitled "AI Tools for Educators", focused on the use of artificial intelligence tools in education and their practical application in the teaching process.
The main aim of the course was to expand my knowledge and practical skills in the field of using artificial intelligence in education and to become familiar with modern digital tools that can enrich the teaching process, support students' active learning and contribute to more effective work for teachers.
During the course, I was introduced to various AI tools designed for creating teaching materials, worksheets, images, presentations, stories and assessment activities. The training also focused on using artificial intelligence to support creativity, differentiated instruction, personalised learning and more efficient lesson preparation. The course also emphasised the safe, ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence in the school environment.
The training took place from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Teacher Academy in Florence. The course was attended by 15 teachers from several European countries, namely Slovakia, Portugal, Malta, Greece, Hungary and Poland. The international composition of the group created an excellent environment for exchanging experiences.
The course trainer was Pietro Antichi, who guided us throughout the week not only through the professional aspects of the topic, but also provided us with a great deal of valuable information about the city of Florence and its surroundings. Thanks to his recommendations, we had the opportunity to explore historical landmarks, museums and galleries, learn more about local traditions and taste typical Italian cuisine.
The first day was devoted to getting to know each other and introducing the schools and countries from which the participants came.
During the course, I learned about the basics of artificial intelligence, how chatbots work and how to create effective prompts for preparing educational materials. We were introduced to various AI tools that can be used in teaching and for creating games, quizzes, images, stories and videos.
An interesting activity was a city game using the GooseChase application, which combined learning with movement and teamwork. The course also included presentations and practical activities involving Ideogram, NotebookLM and Google Arts & Culture.
The course concluded with a presentation of the knowledge and skills we had acquired, the awarding of certificates and a joint evaluation of the training.
I consider my participation in the course to have been a very positive experience. I plan to use the knowledge and skills I gained in my teaching practice and in developing students' digital competences. The course also enabled me to establish new international contacts and gain valuable experience in the field of using artificial intelligence in education.
