About us
About Us Our school is located in the countryside, in a small village in northern Slovakia, providing primary and lower secondary education for 330 students aged 6 to 15. Our institution includes children with special needs, those at risk of social exclusion, with health impairments, and also talented children. The school also has a kindergarten and a school club. We offer a wide range of extracurricular activities such as robotics (Lego) and programming, sports (floorball, volleyball, table tennis), folk dance, arts, music, and dance, among others.
In our school, we:
- Create a suitable environment for the upbringing and education of young people preparing for independent life in modern society.
- Provide a space where these young individuals can experience a sense of success and joy.
- Guide them towards comprehensive, effective, and open communication.
- Encourage them to think creatively and logically and solve problems.
- Implement and effectively utilize combinations of various learning styles.
- Enable them to adopt learning strategies.
- Motivate them for lifelong learning.
Apart from the main priorities, the school participates in numerous projects and activities aimed at improving conditions for students and staff:
- Erasmus+ project (2018-2020)
- eTwinning projects (awarded European Quality Labels)
- IT Academy (aimed at preparing young people for the job market with a focus on IT)
- Reconstruction of specialized classrooms (enriching the educational process with practical teaching of science subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology, and technology)
- National project POP II - enhancing the education of students with special educational needs
Throughout the school years, we organize various competitions, events, and performances, many of which are organized by parents or local communities. The significance of these activities is crucial for shaping students' characters, life priorities, embracing their uniqueness, discovering strengths in their personalities, and further development.
Our Awards:
2022/2023 FIRST Lego League in the USA – our team participated in the global Lego robot programming in California. The team competed in five disciplines and achieved excellent results among 75 teams worldwide, securing 1st place in On-site and 20th place in Robot game discipline.
