Cyprus
Monday
Our Erasmus trip began early on Sunday morning, when we, together with our school from Zákamenné, set off for the airport in Kraków. We passed the time by playing games, although many of us preferred to catch up on sleep after a sleepless night. From the Polish airport, we flew directly to Larnaca, where a bus was waiting to pick us up. The local music played by the driver immediately put us in the right Cypriot mood. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by our host families. There was no time to rest, however, as the families had already prepared a program full of wonderful experiences for us on Sunday.
On Monday morning at 7:30 a.m., the official program at the school began with ice-breaking and team-building activities. When the teachers arrived, a welcoming ceremony followed. The Cypriot students performed beautiful traditional dances for us and introduced us to their country. Afterwards, we toured the school premises, and some of us even had the chance to experience what it is like to be a Cypriot student for a while.
After a delicious lunch and a sweet dessert, we headed to the capital city, Nicosia. There, we learned about the history of Cyprus and the division of the island into Greek and Turkish parts. We also visited the Church of Panagia Faneromeni. To cool down on the hot day, we stopped at a local ice cream shop that, according to the locals, serves the best ice cream in all of Cyprus. At the end of the day, we returned to the school, where our host families were once again waiting for us with another exciting evening program.
Tuesday
On Tuesday, we started the day by playing football. Afterwards, we played dodgeball and then tried an American version of dodgeball as well. Later, the LegoBorci team from Orava gave a presentation and showed us LEGO robots, which we also had the opportunity to program ourselves. Our team members taught three groups of Cypriot students how to program the robots.
After that, the students from Zákamenné taught everyone how to play their traditional game called "Hens, Snakes and Foxes." Following the activities, we had lunch and then took part in a quiz about Cyprus.
To finish this sports and programming day, all the Erasmus participants walked together to a nearby park in the afternoon. There, we enjoyed ice pops and took part in various sports activities on the playground equipment while waiting for our host families to arrive.
In the evening, we went out for dinner with our host family at Cyprus Mall..
Wednesday
Today was truly a special day during our mobility programme. We started the morning with a certificate award ceremony, which had a very pleasant and formal atmosphere. Later, we were shown how traditional Cypriot cheeses, Halloumi and Anari, are made.
We tasted Halloumi served in pita bread, while the sweet Anari reminded us of a delicate semolina dessert. We also tried traditional puff pastry pastries filled with local cheese.
After lunch, our host families picked us up, and we spent the afternoon at a donkey farm and in the beautiful traditional village of Lefkara, where we experienced the authentic atmosphere of Cyprus.
We ended the day with a delicious dinner shared with our host families, making it a perfect conclusion to another memorable day of our Erasmus experience..
Thursday
Thursday brought another unforgettable day full of amazing experiences. In the morning, we travelled by bus to the town of Ayia Napa, where we boarded a boat for a cruise across the beautiful sea.
During the trip, we had two swimming stops. The first was at the stunning Cape Greco, and the second at the famous Blue Lagoon, known for its crystal-clear water. A delicious lunch was also included, which we enjoyed on board the boat while taking in the breathtaking views.
After returning, we changed out of our swimwear and continued our day with a visit to a museum filled with history, interesting facts, and information about Cyprus. Later, we headed to the town square, where we explored the monastery, enjoyed the atmosphere of the town centre, and admired the famous thousand-year-old tree.
On our way back, we stopped for ice cream and refreshing drinks to recharge our energy for the evening activities with our host families. In the evening, I tasted one of the traditional Cypriot dishes with my host family, and we ended the day with a pleasant evening walk.
Friday
Today, we started our day quite early, as a two-hour bus journey to the village of Kampos was waiting for us. There, we visited a school attended by only two students, which was something completely unimaginable for us!
At the school, we had an incredibly interesting lecture about Mars presented by Gernot Grömer himself. The presentation was both inspiring and educational, giving us fascinating insights into space exploration and the planet Mars.
After the lecture, we finally had lunch, and then continued our journey to the beautiful Kykkos Monastery, which impressed us with its magnificent golden decorations and rich history.
Our final stop was Throni, where a monument dedicated to the first President of Cyprus stands. From there, we enjoyed an absolutely breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape, making it a perfect ending to another unforgettable day of our Erasmus experience.
Feedback
From 25 May 2026 to 29 May 2026, a group of our students and teachers participated in an Erasmus+ mobility project in Dali, Cyprus, focused on exploring cultural heritage, promoting well-being, and developing digital and technical skills in the field of robotics.
During our stay, we had the opportunity to collaborate with international partners, exchange experiences, and discover new approaches to education. The students actively participated in workshops, team-building activities, and project tasks that helped develop their creativity, communication skills, and ability to work in an international environment.
An important part of the programme was learning about the rich cultural heritage of Cyprus. We visited historical landmarks, museums, and significant sites, where we learned about the island's history and cultural traditions. These activities enabled us to better understand the importance of preserving cultural heritage and its connection to modern life.
Great emphasis was also placed on the topic of well-being. Through various activities focused on mental health, stress management, cooperation, and building positive relationships, students became more aware of the importance of taking care of their psychological well-being.
In the field of robotics, our students presented and demonstrated the basics of programming to our Cypriot hosts. They worked in international teams, solved practical tasks, and further improved their language skills.
The mobility project brought many new insights, experiences, and friendships. The participants gained not only memorable experiences but also valuable intercultural competences that will contribute to their personal and professional development.
We would like to thank the Erasmus+ Programme, our partner school, and all the organisers for preparing such an excellent programme and providing us with unforgettable experiences. We look forward to future international collaborations and new learning opportunities.

I would like to thank the European Union and the Erasmus+ project for giving me the opportunity to travel to Cyprus. I had many wonderful experiences and made new friends. What I enjoyed the most was the boat trip, the interesting traditional places we visited, and the activities with my host family. I would love to travel again through the Erasmus+ project and experience another amazing week like this one, full of adventure and fun.

I enjoyed the mobility in Cyprus. My host family was kind and friendly. The best part of the programme was on Thursday when we went on a boat trip, swam in the sea, and visited the city. The sports activities were okay, but sometimes they were boring because we had to wait for a long time without doing anything. I liked that at school we could spend our breaks outside. My host family took us to a park and to the beach. The weather was good, although it was very hot on the bus. I did not like having to wake up early and go to bed late. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and I would like to take part in Erasmus again next year.

What was good:
This Erasmus experience was truly wonderful and full of amazing activities. We learned how to make traditional Cypriot cheese and traditional pastries. We also had a lot of fun playing games together. The students prepared beautiful dances for us, as well as a warm welcome and an introduction to their country. After demanding activities, we also had time to relax, which I think everyone appreciated, not just me.
Experience and personal development:
This opportunity helped me improve my English significantly. I also made new friends and built new connections in another country.

The mobility in Cyprus is something I will not forget easily. The programme prepared by the school was excellent. It gave me the opportunity to taste traditional Cypriot cuisine, discover the beauty and history of the island, improve my communication skills in English, and make new friendships. Taking part in an Erasmus+ mobility project is a wonderful experience, and I would recommend it to everyone.
